Where we perform

St Edmundsbury Cathedral

St Edmundsbury Cathedral is an imposing building that sits alongside the Abbey Gardens in the centre of Bury St Edmunds. The lantern tower, which was built in the early noughties to celebrate the millenium, is visible from far and wide and provides a landmark for the town, and the inside of the building is light and bright and airy. As well as operating as the cathedral church of Suffolk, the cathedral converts readily to a concert venue and has been the regular location of our concerts with large orchestras ever since the founding of the choir in 1932.

The Apex

The Apex is a purpose built concert hall situated in the centre of the arc shopping centre, which itself leads directly off the Buttermarket, the historic central square of Bury St Edmunds.  We regularly use The Apex for our concerts with smaller orchetras.  The acoustics are superb, the facilities are excellent, and the wrap around balconies mean the audience is in close contact with the performers, so providing a wonderful contrast to our performances in the cathedral.

The Church of St Peter and St Paul, Lavenham

The parish church in Lavenham is the regular venue for our Christmas Celebration concert.  It's an historic and imposing building of great beauty, and the magnificent interior provides a wonderful setting for our concert of seasonal music and for the traditional mulled wine and mince pies for performers and audience that follows the music.

We also perform from time to time in two other magnificent historic churches, St Mary's Church Bury St Edmunds, and Holy Trinity Church Long Melford.
